Dr. ThomasDr. Goodwin Thomas was born in Rock Hill, S.C., and attended Winthrop Training School and graduated from Rock Hill High School.  He received his B.S. and M. S. degree from Clemson University. After graduating from Clemson, Dr. Thomas entered the United States Air Force Pilot Training Program and earned his wings in 1973.  He also served as a pilot in Vietnam.  Dr. Thomas entered the Medical University School of Dentistry in Charleston in 1975 and graduated in 1978.  Following his dental training, Dr. Thomas entered the Medical College of Georgia and received two post doctorate degrees:  one in Pediatric Dentistry and one in Orthodontics.

Following his residency, Dr. Thomas was a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Orthodontics at the Medical College of Georgia from 1988-1993.  Dr. Thomas is Board Certified and a member of many professional dental organizations, has served on The Board of Deacons at Oakland Avenue Presbyterian Church, Board of Directors of the Speech and Hearing Clinic, American Red Cross, a member of the Rotarian Club and past president of South Carolina Association of Orthodontists.

Dr. Thomas is married to the former Diane Wylie and they have two children, Goody and Caroline.

Dr. LeitnerDr. James D. "Tripp" Leitner, III

Dr. Leitner is a native of Rock Hill and graduated from Northwestern High School in 1996. He went on to receive his bachelor’s degree in biology from the Honors Program at The Citadel and graduated magna cum laude. He then stayed in Charleston to attend dental school at MUSC and upon graduation was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Dental Society.

In keeping with his life long goal of becoming an Orthodontist, Dr. Leitner continued training in New Orleans, Louisiana at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center. Here he completed a two year three months residency in the specialty of Orthodontics. After completion of his first year in residency, he was awarded the Louisiana Association of Orthodontist J. Jerome Herbert Award, which is given to the top first year resident. Dr. Leitner is accepting new patients for treatment.
